Jared Mathes

Coach Jared is a Level 3 Performance in Training Coach, who has primarily coached U13 - U17 girls.  He was also the Alberta Winter Games Head Coach for the Zone 3 girls team.  Beyond coaching, Jared is a Level 3 (Regional) official, who won the Volleyball Alberta High Performance Referee of the Year in 2019. 

Coach Jared's philosophy is to develop independent thinkers. "As we teach athletes how, we also need to teach them why.  We need to build a set of tools that they can effectively use and let them explore how to use those tools and when to choose the right ones.  A team that can lead itself is more agile under pressure than a team that needs to rely on the coach for everything."
